Sea and Mountains

10.03.18 – 22.04.18
Rob Piercy
Sea and Mountains

A celebration of the diverse and dramatic landscape of north west Wales displayed in this collection of work which reflects the artist’s passion for nature in all its varied forms. Although he primarily gains his inspiration from the mountain environment the power and raw energy of the autumn storms has introduced him to another dramatic inspirational source, that of the sea.

New Works

28.04.18 – 10.06.18
Josie Russell
New Works

Views and vistas from all over Wales, famous landmarks, traditional images, flora and fauna all come together to form my 2018 Oriel Môn exhibition. The outstanding beauty of our coast and countryside forms the perfect backdrop for new creative ideas and designs, as well as for perfecting classic ones.

16.06.18 – 05.08.18
Owain Fôn Williams

Owain Fôn Williams is an artist and international goal-keeper who was a member of the squad for Wales’ national football team that reached the semi-finals of the Euro 2016 Championship. His exhibition entitled ‘Heroes’ will be a series of original paintings that portray Owain’s memories of the international team’s success during Euro 2016. The portraits will include national heroes such as Gareth Bale, Chris Coleman and Aaron Ramsey. Brought up in Dyffryn Nantlle, the exhibition will also include original paintings of some of Owain’s personal ‘heroes’, portraying the characters, work and life of the slate quarries.

‘On the Edge’

11.08.18 – 23.09.18
Huw Gareth Jones
‘On the Edge’

A collection of recent pictures of the sea and coast, buildings and mountain scenes. The title refers to the marginal land on the coast and in the mountains, but also to the edges of forms which are so important to the success of a painting. The process of development is shown through sketches in various media created on situ to completed works mainly in oils.
I enjoy varying the process by playing with form, space, colour, texture and tone to create a distillation of the feeling of place.

Criw Celf

29.09.18 – 11.11.18
Criw Celf

Criw Celf is a programme of masterclasses for More Able and Talented children and young people. We aim to inspire future artists by exposing them to different art forms and styles. This exhibition combines the work of Gwynedd and Môn children and young people aged 9 – 18 who have worked with Criw Celf pathways Criw celf, Portffolio and Raising the Bar. The Criw Celf project is kindly funded by the arts Council of Wales and six local authorities across North Wales.
